Position Title: EGL Support Worker (EGL SW)

Reports To: Lead Service Coordinator

Purpose of Position:

The EGL Support Worker role is to support people with a disability to develop, maintain and achieve personal outcomes which enhance quality of life and connect them to their community. To promote Mauri Ora (wellness) from a holistic approach, in accordance with the Treaty of Waitangi and in alignment with the principles of Enabling Good Lives. To encourage participation and inclusion in their chosen activities which maximise personal choice and control.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

▪ No minimum entry qualifications are required but you are required to work towards a National Certificate in Human Services or have proof of sufficient previous experience in Intellectual or Physical Disability support or hold a relevant qualification in a related field.

▪ Knowledge and understanding of people with disabilities

▪ Current First Aid Certificate (or obtain one within the first three months of employment)

▪ Current Full Driver Licence
