The Support Services within the Trust are responsible for providing services and advice to the Operational Branch to enable services to be delivered to people we support according to best practice within a Quality Framework. MASH Trust is concerned with facilitating and actively promoting quality of life by attending to the physical, mental, spiritual and social health of individuals, families, Whānau or groups as well as the interaction between all of these groups and the wider community. The Operations Section of the Trust is responsible for hands on service delivery and support. Operational staff ensure that services are delivered in a manner that is appropriate to the needs of each individual and the organisation. All staff are expected to function in accordance with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and to understand the needs of disabled people.Purpose of Position:The purpose of the Management Accountant position(s) is to provide Cashflow forecasting, reporting & financial advice, budgeting, modelling, Balance Sheet and Fixed Asset Register and financial reporting. This position is a critical source of advice within MASH and supports budget managers to have good financial understanding and oversight of their areas of responsibility. Voluminous data is analysed and translated into information that is presented succinctly to highlight key areas of interest. Financial support is provided to enable quick turnaround responses to opportunities for new services including developing business cases and pricing services and service components. The Management Accountant shall participate as a member of the finance team and maintain functional relationships with other managers. Preparation of the monthly financial reports, management accounts, forecasts / budgets as necessary for effective financial control of the business.Month end accruals and adjustments Prepare all reporting schedules for all entities statutory reporting requirements, this will include but not be limited to GST, PAYE, Statistics NZ requirements and Charities Commission requirements. Provision of timely and accurate financial and management informationBoard of Trustees receive financial report within time frames agreed by Senior Management and the Board that detail reasons for differences between actual expenditure and budget (with a focus on business drivers). Accruals and adjustments are completed within cut off deadline.All cost centre managers receive financial monthly reports (budget versus actual) within set time framesNo IRD late filing penalties or shortfall penalties. Cashflow forecasting / Fund ManagementProduce Cash forecasts that provide understanding of current and future cash positions and enable decision making regarding investment option and borrowing needs.Cash forecasts are produced within a set time frame to ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment rmation Management and ReportingProvision of timely, accurate reports in a format appropriate to users to support financial management and enable decision making.Interpret the financial results to provide meaning and high-level guidance on areas requiring focus.Customers have high levels of confidence and satisfaction with the financial information provided.All internal and external reports are produced within required timeframesCustomers are well informed and supported to focus attention where required.No significant issues raised through the audit process and audit management matters are resolved.Budgeting, Pricing and ModellingManage the preparation of the annual budgets.Provide advice to budget managers and staff in the development of budgets, budget methodology and management of budgets.Transfer of data between the budget model and fixed assetsBalance sheet reconciliations are prepared on a timely and accurate basis.Asset Registers are maintained, accurate and updated.Fixed asset revaluations are completed on schedule with the fixed asset registers and the general ledger updated and reconciled.The fixed asset registers will be reconciled monthly and in a timely manner.Balance sheet reconciliations are prepared within agreed timeframes and to the agreed standardFinancial ReportingPreparing financial information for the Annual Report.Financial information for the Annual Report will be audit ready, accurate and
