|works matters) approvals, Local Traffic Management Plan, etc. on behalf of the County Council giving professional advice to HS2 Ltd and their |

|contractors within statutory timescales. |

|Manage complex work programmes and casework requiring a high level of personal expertise and experience to ensure the delivery of the County Council’s |

|legal and statutory duties with respect to the HS2 Act |

|Lead in negotiations with HS2 Ltd, their contractors and appointed professional agents through the HS2 approval process to secure appropriate physical |

|infrastructure improvements and mitigation from approval proposals. |

|Provide expert advice on major issues in all areas of responsibility and expertise. Interpret complex legislation, regulations and codes of practice. |

|Manage relationships with customers / stakeholders |

|Ensure the appropriate reports/ documentation / plans are commissioned / produced in relation to major issues in collaboration with partner organisations|

|where appropriate. Present / submit to decision making bodies such as BCC HS2 Board. |

|Initiate, build and maintain good working relationships. Communicate and consult effectively with all stakeholders and influence decisions which will |

|impact on BCC policy. |

|Promote and deliver continuous improvements in all aspects of the service area. Lead initiatives to improve service delivery and performance. Develop |
