Auction is a fun and exciting fundraiser! The annual WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction happens every spring, and we can’t do it without you! It’s fun and a great way to meet people. Join us!

2016 WVIZ/PBS AUCTION VOLUNTEER ONLINE FORM

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

IN-STUDIO

Table Captain/Assistant: (For experienced Auction Volunteers) Organizes tables, assists auctioneers and organizes incoming bids.

Bid Taker: Answers the phone, takes bids

Bid Runner: Carries bids from the phone area to the tables

Board Marker: Writes incoming bids on the Auction item whiteboard. Must be at least 5’6’. Limited spots available.

E-Board Marker: Updates the Auction Website by entering incoming bids onto a laptop computer.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Data Entry: Enters donor/buyer/item info. Database experience preferred. Two training pre-auction shifts required.

Warehouse: Performs various positions, such as copy writing, stocking items, filing, etc.

Furniture Handler: Assists with moving furniture in/out of Auction studio and Auction store. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.

BEHIND THE SCENES (CONT.)

Table Loader: Pulls items from warehouse, checks paperwork and moves items into the studio. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.

Board Writer: Writes auction item names on the whiteboards. Must print well.

E-Board Writer: (for experienced Auction volunteers) Creates the Auction item boards for the website by entering information onto a laptop computer.

ÕhÔwz Removes sold items from studio, checks paperwork and stocks items in the Sold Warehouse. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.

Confirmation: Calls high bidders and arranges for them to pick up their item

Cash-n-Carry: Cashier, files paperwork for sold auction items. Must be detail oriented.

Food Service: Services food and beverage. Keeps serving area clean.

Auction Store: Assists customers, cashier, and keeps store organized.

Start times on the volunteer form reflect ARRIVAL TIME at our studios. End times reflect anticipated departure time from the studio.

Groups of 6 or more must return cards together by Monday, March 7. Individual volunteer cards must be returned by Monday, March 14.

Your final schedule will be mailed to you the week of April 4.

Training for volunteers is Monday, April 25 at 7pm. More information will arrive with your final schedule.
