Student Instructions: This application is for newly admitted spring 2018, transfer or a returning students who did not enroll at UDC during the Fall 2017 semester. To apply for Spring 2018 aid you must submit this application and also complete the following requirements: 1) complete a 2017-2018 FAFSA application at and include UDC’s school code: 007015 2) submit any required documents reflected on your MyUDC account, my.udc.edu 3) if applicable, cancel any pending Spring 2018 aid that was awarded to you at a previous college or university.

If all requirements are met, the first half of your loan disbursement* will occur on January 25th and the second half of your loan will disburse on March 13th.

Spring 2018 Late Financial Aid Applicant Procedure

(Retain for your Records)

Students who complete their financial aid application after Monday, November 13th are considered late applicants. Late applicants are strongly encouraged to make alternative payment and book arrangements.

The review of late applications will commence after late registration has concluded on January 12th. Students may be reimbursed up to their eligibility.

Payment Options

• TMS Payment Plan- . The deadline to set up a payment installment plan is Tuesday, January 23rd.

• Apply for an Alternative Student Loan .

• Pay in full through your MyUDC account, my.udc.edu or in person at the Cashier’s Office (Flagship Campus- Bldg. 39, 2nd FL)

Recommendations for Purchasing Books

It is imperative that you complete all assignments while your file is under review. We recommend that you explore some of these cost effective alternatives to assist you in obtaining your text books.

• Rent your textbooks through the University Bookstore, udc. . Select books Information Text Rental

• Check the publisher’s website for the availability of downloading the digital version of your text book.

• Perform web searches for other well-known (i.e. Amazon etc.) text book vendors offering textbooks rentals.

• Check the on campus library for the availability of reference and/or short term text book loaners.

Spring 2018 Award Terms and Conditions

Beginning in early November, spring award notifications will be sent to your MyUDC student portal (MyUDC.edu). Please monitor your award status and/or messages tab in your portal for updates.

Please note the following terms, conditions, and important information.

• A 2017-2018 FAFSA, is required and the submission of all income verification documents (if requested). NOTE: If you have already completed the 2017-2018 FAFSA and listed the UDC school code (007015), you do not need to complete another FAFSA to determine your spring/summer eligibility.

• If you are awarded a Pell and/or SEOG grant, your award may be prorated based on your enrollment at the end of the attendance verification period. NOTE: 6crs or more is required of all SEOG recipients. Depending on your EFC[1], some Pell Grant recipients may be required to have a minimum of 6 or more credits for disbursement of funds.

*12 or more credit hours (full-time enrollment status): You will be awarded 100% of the Pell and/or SEOG award reflected.

*9-11 credit hours (3/4 time enrollment status): You will be awarded 75% of the Pell and/or SEOG award reflected.

*6-8 credit hours (1/2 time enrollment status): You will be awarded 50% of the Pell and/or SEOG award reflected.

*1-5 credit hours (less-than-half-time enrollment status): You will be awarded between 0% to 25% of the Pell award reflected.

• You must be enrolled in a minimum of 6crs (Undergraduate) 4.5crs (Graduate) for Federal Student Loans.

• First time loan borrowers must complete both loan entrance counseling and a master promissory note at prior to loan disbursement.

• Any pending spring 2018 aid will need to be cancelled at your previous school before aid will disburse at UDC.
