Physical Activity Fund GuidelinesWhat is the Physical Activity Fund?The Physical Activity Fund aims to support the costs involved in trialling a new physical activity opportunity for CSSC members and prospective members on a local level across the UK. Whether it’s help with start-up costs, venue costs, equipment or even a coach or instructor, this fund is designed for you to pilot a new physical activity in your area or region.Who can apply?Any CSSC member.What can CSSC fund?A one-off activity or an ongoing activity for up to 8 sessions. Once the activity has ended, the success will be evaluated and you will need to think about how you can further support the activity for participants once it has ended.An activity that directly benefits both CSSC members and potential members.*Start-up costs e.g. the purchase of non-personal equipment, venue hire costs, coach/instructor fees, promotional materials etc.What can’t CSSC fund?Ongoing running costs of an activity already existing or has previously taken place in your workplace, area or region.An activity designed for individuals or where the benefit is for one person only. Each application will assessed on a number of factors including participant numbers in relation to the amount of funding requested.An activity organised to run for longer than 8 sessions.An activity that has already been tried and tested in your area in the last 2 years.Travel or accommodation costs for participants. Participants may wish to contact their relevant Area Association or Departmental Association for assistance.How do I apply?Please complete the application form and send electronically to linda.irwin@cssc.co.uk There is no deadline; applications can be made at any time. However, there is a limited budget available and the fund will be closed once it is exhausted. What happens if my application is successful?If your application is successful, you will need to sign and return the Funding Agreement document before funding can be released. Requirements for funding will include recording participation information and provide further opportunities if the activity is successful, as well as providing a case study to allow for sharing of good practice. Please note that CSSC will offer support and guidance in the planning stages and in the delivery of the activity to help the success of the activity.*Please note that non-members can take part in a CSSC led activity, however the cost of the activity cannot be subsidised.
