CULBOKIE COMMUNITY TRUSTe-mail: info@Culbokie Sharing Shed – Community Consultation(Responses required by Sunday 16th August) What is the Culbokie Sharing Shed?A small, un-serviced and volunteer-run shed (2.4m x 3.0m) in the centre of the village as a base for the free exchange of:home grown produce, non-perishable and unopened food and other consumables, books, CDs, jigsaws, games and small toysplants and seedsother and larger items by means of a noticeboardThe shed would be located on a piece of disturbed ground, owned by Highland Council, just behind and to the right of the Spar Shop beside the Smithfield car parking. The location is temporary and if the project is successful it will be moved to the community Glascairn site once it is developed. Sharing Shed ObjectivesProvide free home produce, non-perishable food / consumables and other items listed above to anyone who needs or can use itReduce food wasteIncrease life of items and reduce resource useReduce items being thrown away and contributing to waste and pollutionEnable people to give away their surpluses and ‘pre-loved’ items to their communityProvide a local service for giving and taking and therefore reducing travel Enhance community spirit through volunteering, social contact and shared purposeWho benefits from the Sharing Shed?The Sharing Shed will be open to everyone to use and enjoy and everyone in the village will be able to benefit from it. It will be particularly valuable to anyone who would welcome a bit of help to access quality fresh produce and other food items, young families with children who quickly outgrow their books, toys and games and older people who may be at home more over the coming months and seeking things to do.The Sharing Shed will also be of benefit to all the volunteers involved in the project by providing social contact and shared purpose.
