Your loan requires that you add Alliant Credit Union to your insurance policy within the first 30 days. If you don't add Alliant as a lienholder, this may result in Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) being added to your loan at an additional cost to you.

Step 1. Add Alliant to your insurance as a lienholder/loss payee

Contact your insurance carrier or agent and verify the following, which can be found on the declarations page (the front page of your insurance policy):

Alliant Credit Union is listed as a lienholder/loss payee. Your insurance policy is effective the same date as the loan open date. Your insurance policy includes Comprehensive and Collision coverage. Deductibles do not exceed $1,000. Vehicle information (year, make, model, and VIN) match information on loan.

Step 2. Provide proof of insurance

Visit Go to and select "Vehicle" under "Do NOT have Reference ID". Enter your last name, zip code, and the last 5 digits of your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).

Time to complete

Provide your insurance details You'll need your insurance company name, policy number, comprehensive deductible amount, and collision deductible amount.

Review and submit Review the information you've entered before submitting. That's it!

If you change your insurance policy during the course of your loan, you must submit updated proof of insurance.
