American River College Nursing Department

ATI TEAS Guidelines

Starting spring 2023 application cycle all students must take ATI TEAS Test Version 7. If a student has multiple TEAS test scores within one year, the following guidelines will apply.

? A minimum passing composite score of 62% is required for entry into the ARC Nursing program. (Based on legislation.)

? Students who score less than 62% will be required to remediate prior to retesting. Minimum 90 days since previous attempt is required.

? Students who wish to improve their score (original score greater than 62%) may also remediate and retest, there must be at least 90 days between attempts.

? Students who remediate to improve their score must complete and submit a "Remediation/Retest Approval" form (below) with their application.

? Further information can be found on the ARC nursing website regarding TEAS preparation, registration, remediation, and testing.

? Note: Points given for TEAS Scores have been updated based on ATI's new Academic Preparedness Levels.

TEAS Remediation Process: Determine your remediation plan by assessing your TEAS test results and reviewing the "ATI TEAS Preparation/Remediation" document on the nursing website.

1. Complete the "Remediation/Retest Approval" form. 2. Retake the TEAS test. 3. Submit "Remediation/Retest Approval" form along with new and previous TEAS test

scores in the application packet.

Please note the following: ? TEAS minimum score of 62% applies to California Community College Nursing Programs only. ? If it has been over 365 days since the previous test, the test with the highest score will be accepted for program application. ? It is highly suggested, though not required, that students testing less than 50% in any one section of the TEAS test remediate before program entry. Please see "Preparation and/or Remediation" document on our website.
