Merriam-Webster’s pocket dictionary.

Supplies: Course syllabus, Scantron sheets, small Examination Blue Book, and #2 pencil.

Student Learning Outcomes: As a result of students taking CAOT 31, students will demonstrate the ability to:

• Recognize and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. Assessment will include grammar, punctuation, and capitalization tests.

• Become more effective business communicators.

Course Description: Review of grammar and punctuation fundamentals with practical applications.

Course Objectives:

• Students will develop critical thinking skills concerning written documents through attention to details of grammar, usage, and mechanics.

• Students will learn current format and style for written business communications, multimedia presentations, and oral presentations.

• Students’ speaking and writing skills will indicate an awareness of correct sentence structure and grammar.

• Discussion of planning and delivering oral presentations
