[Pages:6] This is the original contract the City of Ferndale signed with American LaFrance for the 1917 Chemical Car. The original contract is in the Ferndale Museum collection.

Included with the contract was portion of the American LaFrance catalog. The catalog was laid out so that the description of the vehicle was on the left side of the spread, and the illustration was on the right.

Unfortunately they didn't include the description page for the Double Tank Chemical Car, but the description for the Combination Chemical and Hose car (shown next page) was included along with its illustration, and much of the description probably applies to this model as well.

The contract and catalog pages were stapled togethe and couldn't be removed, so Photoshop was used to complete the image above, as well as remove the wrinkles from it being folded.

Pages 10-12 of the catalog are shown cropped as they were scanned.
