Activities: Coordinated a double blind, placebo-controlled study examining the efficacy of atomoxetine for depression in Parkinson’s disease (Weintraub K-Award). Administered a wide range of psychiatric and neuropsychiatric research instruments including SCID, Mini Panic/Anxiety, Involuntary Emotional Expression Disorder, Psychosis Rating Scale, Hopkins Verbal Learning, Digit Span, Semantic Verbal Fluency, Tower of London, Grooved Pegboard, Finger Tapping. Recruited and retained Parkinson’s disease patients at multiple study sites, collected and scored data, supervised and performed data entry, cleaned, and analyzed data using SPSS. Managed drug accountability, acquisition, and distribution, prepared all IRB documents, maintained research compliance, coordinated neuro-imaging sub-study, and prepared manuscripts and presentations.

Administered impulse control questionnaires including DSM-IV criteria for gambling, hypersexuality, compulsive shopping, and compulsive eating and other psychiatric assessments including STAI, Geriatric Depression Scale, Obsessive Compulsive Inventory. Collected demographic and medical histories, performed chart reviews and entered data into remote data capture (RDC), served as a liaison between the principal investigator and pharmaceutical representatives. Prepared all IRB documents and maintained research compliance for the Philadelphia VA study site.

Activities: Currently participating on a multidisciplinary treatment team providing psychological services to patients who have hematologic malignancies, many of whom are undergoing bone marrow transplants (two days/week).
