PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This enduring activity is designed to increase knowledge and change competency of lactation practices and strategies.

OBJECTIVES:

At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to:

1. Describe the public health significance of community breastfeeding support in continuity of care.

2. Identify at least two continuity of care strategies public health entities and clinical providers can employ to enable broad access to breastfeeding promotion and support services in underserved communities.

3. Describe two aspects of the importance of interprofessional collaboration within the organization and in collaboration with external organizations’ professionals in addressing continuity of care.

4. Describe two aspects of the importance of roles in internal and external partnerships when addressing continuity of care
