It should now read:(Provider Name) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91) (OH-###, exp date)The position descriptions for the Primary Nurse Planner and Nurse Planner have been updated to more clearly reflect responsibilities of each role. This should help new nurses into these roles in the future. (Copy of handout from Provider Update attached.)These changes have been updated in the pdf manual and the individual chapters on the website have also been updated which is on the following link: Hauser is the new Director of Continuing Education for the ONA Approver and Provider Units, effective June 13, 2016. Joe joined ONA in October 2015 as the Director of Continuing Education-Provider Unit. Joe has been a primary nurse planner for 3 years. He earned his baccalaureate and master’s degree in nursing from Lourdes University.? His master’s degree focused on nursing education and his background includes critical care. He stated, “I look forward to assuming the role of Director of Continuing Education at ONA. I will be your contact for both the approver and provider unit moving forward. This class will discuss the reasons for developing an approved provider unit, how to establish a unit, how to obtain approval as a provider unit, and how to function in an approved provider unit.
