The City of Urbana’s Natural Gas Aggregation Plan of Operation and Governance describes the policies and procedures by which the City will carry out its Municipal Natural Gas Aggregation Program, including those policies and procedures which relate to rates and customer service. The Plan includes information on member education, opt-out procedures, billing, obligations of a natural gas supplier solicitation of bids, changes and termination of service and selection of a natural gas supplier. A copy of the proposed plan is available for inspection at City Hall during normal business hours.

Communications

1. Letter from Champaign County Department of Job & Family Services asking local businesses, organizations and agencies to “Wear Blue to Work” on April 11, 2018, to raise awareness for child abuse prevention. (See attached)

Board of Control

1.     The Board of Control recommends Council authorize a purchase order to Environmental Engineering Services in the amount of $9,680.00 for the preliminary design of solids handling/screw press project at the Water Reclamation Facility.    This expense will be charged to the Sewer Fund and is in the 2018 budget.  VOTE: 3-0

 

2.     The Board of Control recommends Council authorize the Director of Administration to enter into a unit price contract with American Pavements, Inc. in the amount of $22,514.80 for the 2018 Crack Sealing Program per the recommendation of City Engineer, Tyler Bumbalough.  This sealed bid was the lowest and best bid of five bids received.  The engineer’s estimate for this work was $41,217.20.  This work will be charged to Capital Improvement-Streets and is in the 2018 budget (see attached).  VOTE: 3-0

 

3.     The Board of Control recommends Council authorize a purchase order to SHI in the amount of $23,456.36 for the purchase of two HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 servers and one centralized storage unit for the city’s computer network.  This expense will be charged to the Capital Improvement Fund – Administration and is in the 2018 budget. VOTE: 3-0
