American Revolution Storybook Project

Over the last month, we discussed the American Revolution and the struggle that took place between Great Britain and the 13 Colonies. For this project, you and your group will be using IPads and other library resources to create your own storybook on the American Revolution. Your writing team will need to come up with a plan of how to recreate the “story” of the Revolutionary War using the Book Creator App on the IPad. You will be in groups of 4, so think about how you want to divide jobs between your members. For example, writers, researchers, animators, etc.

Requirements: You must cover the events of the American Revolution and be able to explain how the Americans were able to achieve victory and their Independence during the American Revolution. You should include battles, historical figures, documents, and events that led up to gaining independence from Great Britain.

Cover Page: You must have a cover to your book

❖ Must have a creative title

❖ Must have all group member names

The Story: See the rubric on the back for more information and how you will be graded

❖ You must cover at least 6 events during the American Revolution

❖ Must have images to support each event of your story (you can have more than one for each)

❖ Be creative in your writing; remember you are telling the epic story of the American Revolution!

❖ Make sure grammar and spelling are correct

❖ Make sure that you also give historical details that are accurate and enhance the story

Citations: You need to have a reference page for your story at the end that should include the following:

❖ Names and titles of resources that you used for your project

❖ You must have at least 2 books as sources

❖ DO NOT rely on your class notes!!! Go beyond what we learned in class.

This project will be graded using the rubric located on the back of this worksheet. Therefore, you MUST turn in this worksheet with your name on it when you complete your project in order to receive your grade. Projects are due at the end of class on Friday January, 8th.
