Time to Make Life Fun with Peninsula Seniors

The winter holidays are behind us and 2020 is already a month old. That means there's 11 more months to connect with Peninsula Seniors for activities and events that will keep your mind and body active and further connect you with the community.

Check out our new travel offerings, too. Locally, visit the Reagan Library, a wisteria festival, or the theater. There are multi-day adventures to Las Vegas, Costa Rica, Yosemite, and Chicago, plus three west coast cruises. Such fun!

Have you seen the three new programs introduced in last month's Connections newsletter? Weekly ukulele group instruction, Zumba Gold? dance class, and knitting, plus the relatively new party bridge that plays monthly.

As always, you can make new friends by attending our social events and volunteering for Peninsula Seniors.

It's 2020. Time to make life fun with Peninsula Seniors!

Make Your Life Fun in Peninsula Seniors' Community

When my parents were in their 70s their large circle of friends diminished as some died and others moved away to be nearer family. Then, at age 80, they moved to a retirement community in Michigan (much like Leisure World) and found a whole new community and gained a new lease on life.

My path is similar to that of my parents. Only the details differ.

When I moved to the Peninsula more than 50 years ago my life and my community were my children, their friends, and their friends' families, and another circle of friends and community were those of us working to incorporate Rancho Palos Verdes.

Now I find myself at the same stage as my 70- and 80-year old parents when their communities began to change, and am glad I have Peninsula Seniors to turn to as a source of community.

This organization offers many activities to explore and many new people to meet. With a core mission of providing a venue for seniors to enrich their lives through exercising their minds and their bodies, Peninsula Seniors has a wealth of opportunities through which members can experience the benefits of getting together and having fun. And more opportunties will be added as we continue to expand our menu of offerings and events. In this new year, please join us and enrich your life.

In news of the organization, your Board continues to work toward the purchase of our portion of the building. We are close to finalizing the purchase and sales agreement. Thanks to all of you, our Capital Campaign was successful in raising the funds necessary to purchase the building. We all hope that our dream will soon be realized.
