Dear Parents,
Dear Parents,
My class requires parental permission for your student to view movies that are used in our curriculum, or that are selected by our teachers, which are rated PG-13.
We believe showing your son or daughter full-length movies such as Marie Antoinette enables them to benefit from another medium as a resource in their study of the neoclassicism era and the Napoleonic era.
Movies, along with our hands-on activities such as reading, in-class discussion groups, and research projects, give students a well-rounded opportunity to discover the world of history. Movies go beyond dry facts and help bring events “alive.” In the context of the class (Fashion in the Era of Napoleon), it will give students a better understanding of how clothes in the era were worn and looked.
A small selection of clips will be viewed containing only appropriate material. Furthermore, because of time limitations, the entirety of the film cannot be watched.
Thank you for taking the time to read and sign this permission form.
Sincerely,
Lee Hershey
