Sean Schwinn became vice president of maritime services for Connexion by Boeing in October 2004. Schwinn is leading the expansion of Connexion by BoeingSM service into the maritime market, enabling ocean-going vessels to take advantage of the same high-speed connectivity that is being offered to the world’s airlines. Testing of the maritime service recently concluded aboard an oil tanker that crossed the North Atlantic in the autumn of 2004.

Before taking his current assignment, Schwinn was vice president of strategy and

business development for Connexion by Boeing. Before joining Connexion by Boeing as deputy general manager in June 2001, Schwinn was director of corporate development for The Boeing Company, where he oversaw numerous acquisitions and divestitures. Schwinn joined Boeing in 1994 from McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm, where he worked for eight years as an associate and senior engagement manager.

Schwinn holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Columbia University and

bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Cambridge. Connexion by Boeing is, for the second year running, the recipient of the World Travel Award for World's Leading High-Speed In-flight Internet Services Provider and

recently was named one of the wireless companies to watch in 2005 by IDC wireless services analysts. Through a broadband connection to an equipped aircraft, high-speed Internet, data and entertainment connectivity is delivered directly to travelers in flight. The Connexion by Boeing service is available today on flights offered by Lufthansa, SAS (Scandinavian Airlines), Japan Airlines and ANA. In addition Singapore Airlines, China Airlines, Korean Air and Asiana have announced their intent to install the Connexion by Boeing system on their long-range aircraft.
