AZNA Chapter 30 Board MeetingMeeting MinutesAugust 10, 2017Present:Kathy Wruk, President; Sarah Locke, Secretary; Tami Calvin, Treasurer; Bill Adams, Member-at-Large; Lynn Untermeyer, Member-at-Large, and Maureen Buhl, Member-At-Large. Absent: Robin Kirschner, Vice President; Kathy Matson, Member-At-LargeNext member’s meeting:September 28, 2017Next board meeting:October 12, 2017Announcements/Approve Minutes – JulyThe AzNA Chapter 30 board meeting convened at 5:30 p.m. at the Red Lobster, Gilbert, AZ. Lynn motion to accept July minutes and Bill seconded motion. Motion Carried. Bill going to AzNA leadership academy, work sponsoring.Treasurer ReportPresented by Tami Calvin. There were two monthly dues deposits. Dues down overall. AzNA aware that there are SIGs that are not active, question if they will be disband. Maureen motion to accept July Treasurer report, Lynn seconded. Motion Carried.MembershipPresented by Bill Adams. There were 781 members in June and 801 members as of July 31st. Bill will send out recognition for 800th member.ScholarshipsLynn will connect with SNAAz President to disseminate information on September scholarships available. Bill and Kathy went to SNAAz open house. Their board is replaced every year and a convention is held every year. This year it is on 10/21/17. Not all school SNA chapters are a part of SNAAz. Will plan to have a new grad ANA membership drawing at AzNA Chapter 30 booth at SNAAz convention this year.By Laws RevisionPresented by Kathy Wruk. Discussion about continuing with VP and add responsibility as the SNA representative or change to PE option and add a director for SNA representative. Directors should have defined roles. Bill and Sarah suggested that the Board should create a resource manual as a guide to assist new board members, secretary to manage. VP will continue to be responsible to review by-laws. Reviewed other changes made to by-laws. Board chose the option to keep VP role with added responsiblity. Lynn made motion to submit by-laws with changes discussed to AzNA Bylaws Committee for review. Sarah Locke seconded motion. Motion Carried.AzNA ConventionKathy will make a 2-year summary of activities poster. We will be having drawings for fitness tracker for all attendees and ANA membership for non-members at the booth. Chapter 30 booth will have Consent to Serve forms, scholarship information, and Save-the-Date postcards for next year’s Renewal Retreat. Will try to get save-the-date in the convention program too. Bill to manage save-the-date cards, to print 250. Template ideas were reviewed. Wednesday, September 27th is the Leadership Summit then the member’s meeting for AzNA. Thursday, September 28th is the Chapter 30 member’s meeting. We will review accomplishments, upcoming nominations. Lynn made motion for chapter to sponsor buying one drink for each attendee, Bill seconded. Motion Carried.Project CureOnly Kathy and one other person showed up for volunteer session. Project CURE has a new director. Bill found registering difficult, but Kathy said you can just show up and register there by paper. Upcoming EventsSNAAz Convention 10/21/17. ANA membership raffle needs to be for students graduating by December 2017. Bill motioned to offer ANA membership for raffle, Sarah seconded. Motion Carried. Sarah to call AzNA office to get Chapter tablecloth printed. (Wendy Knefelkamp, Director of Communications or Debby Wood). Need to add SNAAz convention to October meeting agenda to discuss further.Meetings: Next Board Meeting to be on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at location to be determined. Next Member’s Meet-and-Greet Meeting on September 28, 2017 at 5:15pm at Embassy Suites Conference Center, 5001 N. Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ.
