Find a current Science News article from the newspaper or online. If there is not an author, write: No Author. A copy of the original article must be attached for a grade. The article analysis is due every month (see your class period’s posted schedule). Use the following format to set up your analysis following proper science heading on loose leaf paper or typed.

(2)Summary: (worth 30 pts) (1 paragraph= 25 pts./2 paragraph= 30 pts.)

Write 1-2 paragraphs summarizing the article. Use complete sentences and your own words. Each paragraph should be at least 5 sentences long. Remember to include the “who, what, where, when, why, and how” of the article. 

(3)Vocabulary Words: (worth 20 pts)

You may use the online dictionary:

 Select 3 new science or technology vocabulary (or words that are new or challenging to you). Write the word, its part of speech, syllabication, and then the definition of the word as it is used in the article. For example: Newspaper - (noun) - news * pa * per - A publication usually issued daily or weekly containing current news, editorials, feature articles, and usually advertising.

Evaluation: (worth 30 pts)

In 5-7 (1-paragraph) complete sentences, explain why you selected this article. What is your opinion of the article (did you agree or disagree with what was written) and why? Discuss examples that support your evaluation. Is there anything you want to add or you would change about this article? How does this article’s topic impact the future?
