All the grading rubrics in the MSN courses took on a different look.? The changes included a new five column rubric with both qualitative descriptors and finite points for each grading criterion.? These revisions were made to ensure more consistency and fairness in the evaluation of your work in the course.? Please feel free to view a short podcast outlining these changes.? If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your faculty member.Practicum PreparationAs an MSN student, you are responsible for understanding the practicum requirements and expectations for your specialty track. This includes, but is not limited, to the requirements below.Identify an appropriate practicum location and mentor or preceptor (type determined by track) that meet the criteria established by Chamberlain College of Nursing as detailed in the MSN Practicum Handbook or MSN FNP Practicum Handbook.Secure an acceptable site by submitting the practicum application paperwork a minimum of 120 days prior to the start of the practicum course(s). An agreement or contract between Chamberlain and the site is required, even if you are employed by your site. This process can take several weeks to secure; therefore, it is important that you identify the proper point of contact at the site as noted on your practicum application to assist in this matter.You must comply with all site requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure all site requirements are understood and completed on or before the date provided to you by your practicum team. You are responsible for any practicum-related costs, such as a background check and required immunizations.You are responsible for making any necessary travel arrangements and incurring all related expenses. During your practicum course(s) you must participate in an online practicum class that includes weekly assignments and discussion threads in addition to your practicum hours. Begin by using clicking-on Tech Support, and then select Chat Online.? This will take you to another browser window with three options: find answers, send an email, or chat. Under "find answers", you will be given 535 answers to commonly asked technical questions pertaining to the eCollege LMS.? The "most popular answers" will be accessible on the opening screen.? The "search" feature within "find answers" can be used to go directly to the information most desired. Chat discussions are restricted to certain hours.Helpful Hints on Using TurnitinGreetings, students!As noted in the course Syllabus, Chamberlain College of Nursing uses Turnitin for textual similarity review of students' assignments for the detection of plagiarism. Additionally, using Turnitin facilitates the formative development of scholarly writing skills.In accordance with the new Turnitin policy, the subject matter experts for the graduate core courses identified one assignment in each course that requires an originality report from Turnitin. Faculty members have the discretion to use Turnitin for all class assignments during the course session.
