September 19 | Discovery Theatre

Your inaugural ACA All Access was a great success with 225 people sampling food from several downtown restaurants and premium wines courtesy of Specialty Imports. The evening featured both live and silent auctions and ended with a special performance by Lisa Loeb.

LINDEN STRING QUARTET

September 27 | Discovery Theatre

In addition to their public performance, Linden String Quartet participated in six community engagement activities, including a visit to the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center Woman's String Orchestra.

KEOLA BEAMER & R. CARLOS NAKAI

October 4 | Discovery Theatre

During their stay in Anchorage, Beamer and Nakai broke bread with locals at a family-style potluck and cultural exchange with the Alaska Native Heritage Center and the Polynesian Association of Alaska.

THE LAST BISON

October 19 | Discovery Theatre

A lucky few were fortunate enough to find out about a "Secret Show" with The Last Bison. Spread only by word of mouth, this abbreviated performance and BYOB event was held at Anchorage Community Works with dinner served up by local food truck AK Street Eats.

MARTIN SHORT

October 6 | Atwood Concert Hall

Martin Short's performance featured a special appearance by local meteorologist, Jackie Purcell. Jackie was interviewed by none other than Short's iconic character Jiminy Glick. The technical rider for the evening also called for a "burly Sco sman" capable of carrying Short around stage as if he were bagpipes. Anchorage's own Kevin McClear was up to the task.

November 8 & 9 | Atwood Concert Hall

As part of the ACA All Access live auction, two patrons won a special Huey Lewis and the News VIP Package that included a backstage meet and greet, a signed, vinyl copy of the "Sports" album, a vintage sweatshirt, and 10 tickets to the show.

Each year ACA dedicates the final dress rehearsal of The Nutcracker to benefit local social service agencies. With the generous support of our friends at ConocoPhillips, we provide free tickets to families and individuals who would otherwise not have access to this holiday tradition.

Holiday shows between Christmas and New Years have a orded ACA a special opportunity for greater impact. Recent holiday shows, like Cirque Dreams Holidaze, have brought in huge audiences during a time of year when the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts as well as many downtown restaurants would be otherwise slow or empty.

On top of 12 awe inspiring public performances, cast members of West Side Story found time to interact with Anchorage area students, including a visit with Romig Middle School's Spanish Immersion program.

Always the favorite with students, Alpin combines everything from Mario Brothers to Beethoven. As part of his residency in Anchorage, he visited Polaris K-12 School.

CALIFORNIA GUITAR & MONTREAL GUITAR TRIOS

Throughout the season, various artists join us for special house concerts. The California and Montreal Guitar Trios performed for one of these intimate yet relaxed occasions, where ACA supporters and community partners can interact more closely with the artists over wine and hors d'oeuvres.

Cedric Watson and Sidi Toure's performance in Anchorage coincided with the Alaska World A airs Council's inaugural World Music Festival. A endees to the fest were treated to a discussion of the music's cultural context as well as a short performance by Sidi and Cedric.
