The Course

English II World Literature is an interdisciplinary course designed to develop critical readers and writers. The course explores the dynamics of reading a story, importance of plot and setting, author’s point of view, characterization, as well an author’s style and tone. Conventions of poetry are also examined in each unit. Overall, we will analyze and synthesize these literary elements to discover the theme of a given work by employing the ACT College Readiness Standards scope and sequence of skills in English, reading, and writing.
