Students will be exploring and analyzing the history of the Ancient Egyptians, Romans, and the Chinese. During study of the medieval period, students will be studying the development of kingdoms and social structures.Course Goals- Students will be able to Utilize research skillsDescribe human and social development of civilizationsAnalyze scientific and cultural advancementsIdentify social contributions from different erasAnalyze transitions from era to era Classroom Expectations- Be RespectfulBe ResponsibleBe PreparedBe AttentiveClassroom Rules-NO CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES!!No food or drink, except for water.Be on time and in your seat when the bell rings.Listen to instruction the first time it is given.No cheating.Pick up after yourself before leaving class.Assignments- There will usually be one assignment daily. Any unfinished work will be homework and due on the following day, unless another due date is given. PAY ATTENTION TO DUE DATES! Late work will not receive full credit, but some points are better than none. Throughout the course, papers, projects, and presentations will be assigned with a final project of your choosing (upon my approval). There will also be quizzes, tests, and a final exam. It is your RESPONSIBILTY to be prepared for all assignments. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to ask for the work or to make up any missed quizzes/tests. If you are doing group work, do your fair share. Plagiarism and cheating are taken seriously. I am vigilant about checking for plagiarism and cheating and I follow school policy concerning this issue. If a student is caught cheating or plagiarizing, they will receive the consequence as stated in the school discipline policy statement. In addition, students will receive no points for the work and will not be allowed to re-submit the work for a grade. I will also request a conference with the student’s parents. Please do not cheat or plagiarize; it is not worth the loss of trust, credibility and points.General Grade Scale-A= 100%- 90B= 89%- 80C= 79%-70D= 69%-60F= 59% and below ................
