POST: Team Leader [Supported Housing]

RESPONSIBLE TO: Supported Housing and Services Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Project Workers, Night Staff and

Ancillary Staff

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

▪ To lead a team of project workers in providing a high standard of support and housing management to residents

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide line management, supervision and appraisal to staff.

2. Be responsible for deployment of staffing, ensuring sufficient rota cover

3. Performance management including setting targets, monitoring and taking action to address any performance issues.

4. Facilitate and encourage effective customer participation, consultation and feedback within the project and ensure that residents are involved in the management of the scheme

5. Monitor service provision on a regular basis and in liaison with the Quality and Performance Officer, ensure best practice and prompt intervention as required.

6. Ensure all customers have an up to date and Outcome focused Support Plan

7. Develop and maintain positive links with local statutory and independent sector services.

8. Provide information and data on service provision as required.

9. Monitor and ensure spend is contained within the annual budget.

10. Maximise rental income through proactive void management, lettings and rent collection.

11. Ensure effective communication and information systems within the project.

12. Ensure that staff set up and maintain customer files and ensure that appropriate records are kept of support provided to customers.

13. Liaise effectively with partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure referrals and assessment issues are dealt with promptly and efficiently.

14. To deal with residents disputes and complaint, breaches of licence agreements, including rent and service charge arrears, nuisance, harassment and misuse of property in line with ICH policy and procedure

15. Adhere to and implement the Association’s policies and procedures.

The list of tasks is not an exclusive one and duties may be varied from time to time by the Supported Housing and Services Manager. This job description is subject to regular review.

PERSONNEL PERSON SPECIFICATION

ROLE: Team Leader Supported Housing

1. Experience

1. Minimum of three years experience in managing supported housing accommodation and services.

2. Proven experience of line management of staff

3. Experience in implementing and managing change and innovation.

4. Proven experience in contractual and regulatory compliance.

5. Experience in managing budgets

6. Experience in identification and assessment of risk.

2. Skills and Abilities

1. Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload

2. Ability to keep accurate and timely records

3. Ability to meet deadlines

4. Ability to analyse and evaluate data and produce clear and concise reports

5. Ability to understand and work within a budgetary framework

6. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

3. Knowledge

1. Knowledge of germane legislation pertaining to housing and in particular tenure agreements and Health and Safety.

2. Knowledge and understanding of good practice in housing management.

3. Working knowledge of Housing Benefit and welfare benefits

4. Knowledge and understanding of how the use of ICT can improve the efficiency in the Housing Management function.

5. Knowledge and understanding of working in a diverse environment.

1. To be educated to a high standard of education, preferably third level.
