Setting: Adult Outpatient
Population: Outpatient population ranging from early adulthood to late adulthood.
Duties: Conduct structured diagnostic interviews, co-lead psychotherapy group (CBT for Anxiety, CBT for Depression, FDT for Depression, Interpersonal, Stress Management, Mindfulness), Individual therapy using CBT, weekly didactics, weekly grand rounds, mood clinic meetings (interdisciplinary setting: Psychiatrist, Psychologists, LCSW, Residents and Social workers). In-depth training in mood, psychotic, anxiety, bipolar, dual-diagnosis and personality disorders. Responsibilities also included research activities on treatment outcomes, involved in research publications. Other duties include individual supervision, group supervision, consultation, case conferences, outcome assessment and group therapy course instructor for residents in training.

Setting: Family Medicine Practice, LLU Medical Center
Population: Outpatient population ranging from early childhood to late adulthood. Patients mainly referred by physician practicing within the Family Medicine Practice.
Duties: Assessment (outcomes) and short-term interventions (empirically supported interventions) focused on health behaviors and chronic disease. Treatment includes working with chronic disease coping, lifestyle issues, medical complications, depression secondary to chronic disease, crisis intervention, adherence issues including medication or other aspects of treatment. Medical conditions included but not limited to the following: Diabetes Mellitus, Cancer, Hypertension, COPD, IBS, Chronic pain and Obesity. Treatment is driven by an interdisciplinary approach. Treatment teams include: Physicians, nurses, social workers and psychologist. Other duties include weekly supervision, consultation and outcome assessments.

Neuropsychological Trainee (Externship), Casa Colina Rehabilitation Hospital, Pomona, CA. September 2009- September 2010

Setting: Outpatient, Inpatient and Transitional Living Center (Partial Hospitalization/ Residential Program/ Intense Outpatient).
Population: Population ranging from early adulthood to late adulthood. Patients referred by physician and variety of other hospital all around the world.
Duties: Psychological/Neuropsychological assessments, group therapy, individual therapy, rehabilitation psychotherapy for a variety of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients ranging from concussion or mild, moderate or sever brain injury. Impairments and disabilities include: TBI, stroke, brain tumor, dementia, seizure disorder, medical illness (i.e. encephalopathy, metabolic disturbances, etc.), chronic substance abuse, movement disorders (Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease) and spinal cord injuries. Treatments ranged from brief to long-term therapy, co-facilitated treatment groups (brain injury education, disability adjustment, executive functioning, executive control and presentation group). Other responsibilities include serving as a consultant to diverse disciplines and develop and implement behavioral plan. Treatment is generally from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, interpersonal and psycho-educational orientations; setting is interdisciplinary in nature: members of a treatment team include physician specialty, physical-, occupational-, and speech/language therapists, housing staff; case managers; and social workers. Weekly didactic seminars, individual supervision, group supervision, outcome assessment research and program development.

Psychological Trainee (Internal Practicum), Loma Linda University Psychological Services Clinic, Loma Linda, CA. July 2008 – June 2009.

Setting: Internal clinic for the Department of Psychology at Loma Linda University.
Population: Outpatient population ranging in age from early childhood to late adulthood. Services were provided to an ethnically diverse population. Clients were either referred from local medical facilities or were self-referred clients from the surrounding communities.
Duties: Assessment and treatment for a variety of Axis I and Axis II disorders, including: Mood disorders secondary to Neurofibromatosis, cerebral palsy, diabetes, chronic pain etc. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, social anxiety borderline personality disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, dysthymic and cyclothymic Disorder. Further responsibilities include comprehensive intakes and reports, psychotherapy sessions, charting, on-call pager responsibilities, transfer and case closure summary reports, implementation of biofeedback treatment for pain management and stress. In addition, case and weekly attendance of didactic seminars promoting technique refinement, case conceptualization, diversity issues and HIPPA regulation. Completed personality and neuropsychological assessment batteries.
