Science Project: Cells and their Organelles [pic]

On a sheet of large unlined drawing paper, draw a typical plant cell and animal cell side by side. You will need to include the proper organelles and other cell parts in each drawing. The drawing should be colored, neat, and the parts labeled properly. You will be comparing the cell to a school (just like we did with a city similes on our index cards.) Just as all of the organelles are found inside of a cell, all of your comparisons should include things are found inside a school, so no school buses, playgrounds, etc. will be accepted. Use a computer to copy and paste images to a Word Document that represent the functions of the different cell parts. Glue or tape the pictures on the drawing next to the labels of cell parts. You only need to attach a picture one time for each organelle. This is an individual project—so keep your ideas to yourself!

Include the following organelles and cell parts:

Nucleus Cytoplasm Cell Membrane

Cell Wall Vacuoles Nucleolus

Mitochondria Ribosomes DNA

Chloroplast Golgi Complex Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
