What has changed is the time we spend together with our guests. The meals are now served from 5:30 until 6:00, and folks can sit together and share fellowship along with the food. About 20 people come in for the meals each week, and some of them take meals to share with family members or neighbors. During the cold weather, we had coats and other warm clothes for our guests. We have booklets with devotions that people take home to warm their hearts. Most important, we get to know the people who come in and they can get to know us. Our community is being served every week though our ministries at Andrew’s Place as we share the good news of God’s grace.Your help is needed for these ministries. We will worship—around the dinner table—where we will hear the appointed readings for the day, eat a simple meal such as Jesus might have eaten, work on a service project of assembling care packages for the women at Shepherd’s House, share Holy Communion, and then process into the church for the Stripping of the Altar.Because this service involves a meal, it will begin at 6:00 PM. Please sign up so that we know how many people to prepare for. Thank you!Good Friday Tenebrae ServiceOn Good Friday, we will gather at 7:00 PM to remember our Lord’s suffering and death for us. We will hear the Passion Story from the gospel of John and after each portion of the reading, we will extinguish a candle. As we go deeper into the story, the shadows (Tenebrae means “shadows”) get deeper as the sanctuary becomes darker.
