The first thing we want to say is a huge THANK YOU to all of the Doctors, Nurses, First Responders, Firefighters, and Police for working tirelessly through these dangerous and crazy times. They all are on the front lines of this pandemic and our hearts go out to them and their families to stay safe.

Linda and I have been receiving updates almost on a daily basis from our Canadian tourism bureaus regarding any information that might pertain to the opening of our fishing season in Northwest Ontario. While we wish we had a more definitive answer as to a specific date as to when the border will be open, we just don't at this time. We know most, if not all of you, have been watching and reading all kinds of news stations and websites to get information, but similar to the status in the States, Canada appears to be holding off on any specific date to open.

From a good news perspective, it seems like some US states are starting to relax their "opinions" as to when they could start to open up parts, if not all, of their respective states for business and personal activities. One of those activities that are starting to open in many states is fishing. That is great news. Another good piece of information from this past week is the Premier of Ontario stating that the Ontario fishing season will be open on its normal regular schedule date. There was not a lot of specific information given with this statement as to what that really means but we are holding faith that this is a good step forward in the right direction.

In regards to our guests who have reservations for this summer, we are asking them to hold their current reservations until we have more accurate and definitive answers from the Canadian government regarding the opening of the border. We know everyone would like to have a better timeline but we have faith that our summer fishing season will happen one way or another. If you have any questions, feel free to email or call.
