Title: Central Office Receptionist

Qualifications: 1. Not less than a high school diploma;

2. Knowledge of typing, office machines and computers; proficiency of MicroSoft Word and Excel.

Job Goal: Create a positive image as the initial contact by phone or in person with visitors to the Central Office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Depending upon the individual assignment, the Receptionist may perform all or a combination of the following:

1. Exhibit confidentiality, initiative, creativity, and enthusiasm in performing job functions.

2. Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant, informed manner for the

purpose of providing information.

3. Forward requests for information and messages to the appropriate individuals.

4. Keep adequate phone records, route phone calls to appropriate persons in a timely manner.

5. Performs clerical tasks as assigned including word processing, creating databases, and managing files.

6. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director.

The preceding list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Maintains confidentiality, experiences frequent interruptions; requires concentration and attention to detail; may occasionally deal with distraught or difficult individuals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Required to sit for prolonged periods; exposed to visual display terminal for prolonged periods; dexterity and precision required in the operation of a computer.

Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

1. Stooping and/or kneeling

2. Reaching

3. Talking

4. Hearing

5. Seeing

6. Lifting

TEMPERAMENT (Personal Traits)

1. Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.

3. Adaptability to making generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria.
