SYMBOLS YOU NEED TO RECOGNISE FOR THE WORD PROCESSING SECTION

Ital = you must change the word on the line into ITALICS, you will know which word as it will be underlined.

RUN ON = you must connect one paragraph with another, you will know where to link paragraphs as they will have arrows linking them. You connect them by placing the cursor at the beginning of the second paragraph and click back space a few times until it meets the first paragraph.

n.p or [ ] = You must create two paragraphs from one. You do this by placing the cursor in front of the letter where the second paragraph will begin. You will know where this is as it will have a small underline or it will have the block brackets as shown here. Then hit Enter or Return a few times until the paragraph moves down and makes two paragraphs.

= You must insert a full stop at the end of a sentence or wherever you see an underline in that sentence.

House = You must delete the word in the sentence that has a line through it.

House = You must leave the word if it is crossed out with dashed line underneath.

[ ] = You must move the block of text that is surrounded by these block arrows, move it to wherever the arrow tells you.

trs or transpose = You must swop the direction of the words that have trs beside them. E.g. Friendly Child to Child Friendly.

Lc = You must change the letter in the sentence that is underlined to Lower Case or to a small letter.

Uc = You must change the letter in the sentence that is underline to Upper Case or to a Big/Capital letter.

Justify = You must Justify the text that is underlined.

Pt 12 = You must change the size of the font/letters to size 12.

= You must insert some text where you see this symbol; the text will be at the left side of the sentence or written in above the symbol.

= Connect two words together.

Del = you must delete the word that is underlined.
