TENDER JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Drop-in Coordinator; fixed term 12 month contract
1. Main purpose of the job
Coordinating the delivery of a Sex, Relationship and Substance Misuse Education Programmes to schools, special schools, colleges, youth centres and alternative education settings.
• Building relationships with teachers, youth workers, young people’s drugs and alcohol services and other organisations and services including the Youth Partnership Board and Children’s services.
• Providing a weekly drop in service to schools, offering information and sign-posting for young people.
Coordinating the evaluation of the programmes with schools and youth services
The staff team in Tender exercise regular, significant discretion in decision-making relating to their day-to-day tasks. All jobs involve managing processes and/or information in order to deliver results within a clearly defined area. All staff are likely to be supporting volunteers by checking routine work and responding to requests for information or guidance. Staff are expected to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures using judgement and acquired experience, referring to colleagues for solutions to more complex problems. 2. Position in the organisation
Reports to: Director and Development Manager
Responsible for: Coordinating Healthy Relationship Education programmes
Coordinating the evaluation of the programmes
Establishing and maintaining relationships with teachers, youth leaders and local authority staff
Main Relationships: Liaison with teachers in schools and PRUs and youth leaders in youth centres.
Liaison with key staff within each local authority
Liaison with organisations involved in any aspects of the programme
Line managing workshop leaders
Contact with Safeguarding Children Boards
3. Duties and key responsibilities
• Send mail shots to schools and youth centres in both boroughs introducing the programme
• Book inception meetings with the lead teacher or youth worker to plan delivery in schools and youth centres
• Book and deliver weekly drop in sessions at all schools and some youth centres
• Ensure contracts with schools, teachers, youth workers and Tender’s freelance workers delivering Tender’s education projects are complete and up-to-date.
• Ensure that all evaluation procedures are on track including; questionnaires from young people and teachers are completed and returned; visits to schools and youth projects to facilitate feedback sessions are booked; and evaluation and monitoring reports are up to date.
• Liaise with borough networks to identify schools or youth centres that may require particular time-investments
• Work with the Director to develop a training package to support the revised programme with young people
• Manage the distribution of training materials to workshop leaders and schools.
• Supporting the Development Manager in attracting funding for education work including research into potential sponsors, direct communication with schools
• Supporting the active involvement of young people in project reviews and planning
• Deliver some In-Service Training to teachers and youth leaders
• Liaise with other agencies providing services for young people within the two boroughs.
• Work with the Director and Development Manager to keep abreast of changes to health prevention strategies, policy and local trends.
• Meet with the Director to review performance and progress targets and objectives
4. Dimensions and limits of authority
• Authority to co-ordinate all delivery of the programme in schools and youth settings
• Authority to establish external relationships with schools, local authorities, other youth-orientated agencies and other training-related organisations
• Identify priorities and where appropriate, delegate tasks to other staff accordingly.

• Highly proficient writing and speaking skills E

• Confident and professional telephone manner E
• Possession of an enhanced CRB disclosure prior to taking up the post E
(A check performed by another organisation within the last 2 years is
acceptable, or Tender can do so, though it may take up to 3 months)
Experience
• Experience of coordinating issue based education projects E

• Experience of training adults and/or delivering presentations D
