Use the textbook files that have been uploaded into Teacher Resource area until your textbook CD arrives in the mail. The materials must be returned to FLVS immediately upon completion of the course.PaceA pace chart is created to map out the school year so that you have completed the curriculum and have adequate review time prior to the AP Calculus Exam. Steady consistent attention to this course is required. Each week, you should plan to spend 10 – 12 hours on this course. I will help you with appropriate pacing. It is important that you are working consistently and submitting work each week. You must take responsibility for your weekly schedule. You must manage your time effectively so that school assignments and exams, clubs and activities, SAT/ACT, college applications, and sports do not interfere with your ability to complete and submit assignments in this class. Weekly communication is a requirement for this course. In this class, you may call, email, text.I am here to help with pacing, math homework, quiz/exam prep, technology issues, grade and academic advisement. Please reach out to me for assistance.As a minimum, you should speak to me on the phone every two weeks.During our phone time, we will review your grade book, check your pace, and review some of the major concepts, definitions, and theorems from the course.All tests are locked with a password that you may obtain during our phone call.AssignmentsFor full credit all work must be neatly shown using correct math notation. Please label your paper with your name and the assignment number/title.For Quizzes and Tests, you may type your work on the exam or you may use a separate sheet and either attach to the test or scan/email your work upon submission. If you choose to scan/email your work, you must type the answer on the exam. Acceptable document formats for all assignments/submissions are .jpg .gif .doc .docx .rtf .rtx .wmf .eps .png .pdf.bmpWhen naming files, you should use the underscore instead of a period. For example, 1_01, 2_03pg1, 2_03pg2, etc. Please note I cannot accept faxed homework. Each lesson includes 2 assignments:Notebook Work: This is practice for YOUR benefit. The questions assigned are odds and can be checked for free at (choose Calculus, 8th Edition)To Be Submitted: This is the assignment that will be GRADED for correctness. The questions are even numbered problems. If you are having trouble, refer to the solution for the odd problem or contact your instructor for help.Assignments may be resubmitted three times for more points. Please click on the graded assignment from your grade book, review your feedback, and make corrections. When saving your changes, please make sure your new file has a different file name than the previous.Weekly assignment submissions are REQUIRED!CalculatorA graphing calculator is required for this course and for the AP Exam. Make sure your calculator is from the approved list (I recommend TI84 or TI89). Please let me know if you have something different than those.AP ExamYou are required to take the AP Calculus BC Exam on May 9th at 8am. You will be emailed an AP Exam Verification Form which must be returned to me shortly after the AP Exam. You are expected to be 100% complete with the course AND at your grade goal by Monday, April 30, 2012.Semester 1 and Semester 2 grades remain open and are held until a completed Exam Verification Form has been received by me. The earliest your grade will be completed and finalized on your transcript is May 9th, afternoon.Failure to complete the course before the AP exam, take the exam or to return the form on time will necessitate FLVS issuing an Honors Calculus credit instead of AP Calculus BC credit. ................
