WELCOME TO AP WORLD HISTORY!!! THIS IS A COLLEGE LEVEL COURSE. It requires outside preparation and much reading in order to benefit most from classroom instruction and discussion. You will be encouraged to take the AP World History exam on Thursday, May 15, 2014. If you score high enough you can receive college credit. We will discuss the exam throughout the year.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course attempts to provide a critical understanding of history by confronting certain fundamental questions about history. This course covers major events and trends in World History from 8000 BCE to approximately the year 2005. This course follows the course outline from the AP College Board, the governing body that regulates AP courses. We will be reading, discussing, and analyzing primary source documents, some of which may be controversial. However, this is a college level class and you need to be exposed to all types of documents and artwork. Please feel comfortable in discussing any feelings or concerns with me.
