Physics 12 - Portfolio Final Essay
Purpose: To demonstrate a clear and comprehensive understanding of major concepts and theories in Physics 12 as shown through formal, persuasive writing.
Task: Write a 1000 word essay arguing that Physics 12 should, or should not be, a required course for graduation from high school.
Process:
1. Write a formal, persuasive essay. This requires an introduction, at least three body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
2. Support your thesis with concepts and theories from what you have learned in this Physics course, as applied to an understanding to the nature of the universe. You CANNOT simply list the important topics one learns in Physics! You must EXPLAIN how they are applicable and why they are important. If you argue the irrelevance of the course, you must explain with the same detail and examples, why. Your text, course notes, the course website, and additional texts or on-line sources should be used to demonstrate a broad understanding of Physics. All references must be cited using APA format.
3. Proofread and edit your essay carefully for all spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors.
4. Submit your essay with a title page and the Works Cited page.
