What is great about Turnitin is that it is built right into eCentennial. ?To use it, simply click on the Self-Check dropbox located on the homepage of eCentennial. Follow the instructions for submitting your assignment, then wait for Turnitin to generate an “Originality Report” (this may take up to 15min).Always check your submissions if you are unsure about your work. ?Keep in mind that most assignments will have minor similarities which are acceptable. ?For example, entries in a bibliography will usually be matched. By default, Turnitin is an excellent tool to check for plagiarism, but it is also a useful tool simply to learn about plagiarism, and all of the different ways in which it can occur. ?Turnitin provides a fantastic resource called “The Plagiarism Spectrum,” which identifies 10 of the most common types of plagiarism. It is a good idea to learn about these different types. Many students do it by accident and yet, plagiarism is still plagiarism. ?Ignorance is not an accepted excuse for breaches of academic integrity. How to Use Turnitin: ................
