The October meeting of the Oahe Special Education Coop …



The November meeting of the Oahe Special Education Coop was held on November 16th at 5:35 p.m. at the Oahe Special Education Offices in Java. All board members were present with the exception of Jeff Oxner and Mark Weber. Director Schuetzle and Business Manager Lutz also attended the meeting.

21-24 Rueb moved to approve the agenda, the minutes of the October 19th, 2020 meeting and the financial report and bills as presented. Second by Hawk,Sr., all in favor, motion carried.

Business Manager Lutz informed the board the Northern Plains Insurance Pool, that the Oahe Coop is a member of, will be issuing dividends to their member districts. Snow days for paraprofessionals and COVID Leave was discussed.

21-25 Opp moved to allow hourly employees up to 5 snow days for the 2020-2021 school year. In the event that school is cancelled on the day the employee is scheduled to work the employee will be paid for those hours. Second by Rueb. All in favor, motion carried.

Director Schuetzle gave the board a handout for the first reading of the Federal Financial Internal Controls and Procedures. A staff inservice is scheduled for December 2nd in Java. Mrs. Schuetzle updated the board on the Special Education Teacher’s tentative arrival date of December 15th from the Philippians. Director Schuetzle informed the board that the 4 new lap top computers have arrived and have been given to the staff members. She also told the board the Child Count is due December 1st.

21-26 Opp moved to declare the following tests as surplus and to be destroyed: GARSII, WAISIII and Apple Ipads purchased in 2012. Second by Rueb. All in favor, motion carried.

21-27 Rueb moved to increase the fixed assets policy amount from $3000 to $5000. Second by Hawk,Sr. All in favor, motion carried.

The next Oahe board meeting will be held on December 21st at 5:30PM to be held at the Java Offices.

Board Chair Fiedler adjourned the meeting at 6:02 P.M.
