iOS Device Activation and XenMobile Citrix Secure Hub Client Install Guide for GOE This document provides the steps to activate your Government Owned Equipment (GOE) iPad or iPhone device then install the Citrix XenMobile (XM) Citrix Secure client for email and intranet access.NOTE: Your account must be authorized by ITSO to use XM in order to download the Citrix Secure applications and connect to CDC mail or CDC intranet. If you have not received notification from ITSO directly that your account has been authorized via an announcement or other email communication, please contact the ITSO Service Desk via the instructions at the bottom of this document. If you share these instructions with someone and their account is not authorized, they will not be able to access the Citrix Secure Apps.Before Getting Started: Ensure your device battery is fully charged and has strong cellular coverage or Wi-Fi signal, if applicable.Activate the Device: Contact the WidePoint (iSYS) Customer Care Center at 1-866-738-3188 to ensure your device has been activated and cellular service has been turned on.Update CDC Neighborhood: Go to CDC Neighborhood at and add your mobile telephone number.Enter Passcode or Password: You will be prompted throughout the activation and enrollment processes to enter a Passcode or a Password. Consider using the same combination for ease of use once the device is fully operational.Passcode: This is the password for opening your iOS device.Password: You will be prompted for two passwords during the activation and enrollment processes:Apple ID Password: This is the password you will set up when activating your iTunes account.Work PIN: This is the password you will use to open the secure Work Space on the iOS device to access Outlook. The first time you are prompted to enter this password you will be asked to enter a 4-digit code. You will be prompted again later in the process to change this to a complex password consisting of alphanumeric and a special character.Activate your iPad or iPhone: Follow these steps to activate your iPad or iPhone for the first time.If your screen is locked, slide the bar to unlock the screen.Follow the onscreen instructions to select your language and location. Then choose a Wi-Fi network if applicable, and set up your device as a New iPad/iPhone.Create your iTunes account using one of the following naming standards:Devices issued for individual use must use an iTunes account created using that individual’s CDC email address, in the form aaan@. (Where aaan is your CDC UserID.)When prompted for a recovery email address, use your CDC friendly email (e.g. johndoe@).Agree to the Terms and Conditions.Continue following the onscreen instructions to set up iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and Siri.Set Diagnostics to Don’t Send.Install Citrix Secure Hub: Follow these steps to install the Citrix Secure Hub Client.Click the App Store icon on the device.Search the App Store for Citrix Secure Hub. Click Get>Install to download the Citrix Secure Hub client.Click Open to launch Citrix Secure Hub.Enter mob. at the initial prompt. Enter your UserID and Password then click Sign On. (IMPORTANT: Do not use CDC\ or @ when entering your UserID.)During the device enrollment, XM will download profiles to be installed on the device when prompted. Click Install to apply profiles to the device.During the installation of the profiles, you will be prompted to enter your device passcode to install profiles. This is the password to unlock the phone or tablet. If it is less than six characters you may be prompted to change it later during the enrollment. Click Trust to enable remote management.Citrix Secure Hub will open and you will be prompted to set a six-digit Citrix Secure PIN. Enter the same PIN when asked to confirm. Default application set will install. This includes Citrix Secure Mail, Citrix Secure Web and Citrix QuickEdit for XenMobile. It is important that you have good signal strength at this point to successfully install the applications.Go to Settings>General>Profiles and open the CentersForDiseaseControl profile. Click Trust CentersForDiseaseControlandPrevention to ensure the device will allow the Citrix Secure applications to download after you have installed the Citrix Secure Hub client. Set up Citrix Secure Mail: Follow these steps to set up Citrix Secure Mail.Exit Citrix Secure Hub, then click Citrix Secure Mail on the device’s Home screen.Enter your UserID and Password to connect to the CDC email environment.Open Citrix Secure Mail to confirm the email client is communicating successfully with the CDC email system. NOTE: Normally, once started the first time, depending on the strength of the connection, it will take a few minutes to sync email, calendar and contacts.Additional information, such as features and troubleshooting tips, can be found in the XM iOS Customer Information Sheet.
