CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT IN REGULAR COURSES

The assessment during this course is continuous and will be done throughout all the weeks of the term. This course therefore has no final exams but the following will be assessed:

Tasks and class activities

Homework

Attendance and punctuality

All components will determine the final grade in your WRITTEN and in your ORAL.

1.TASKS AND CLASS ACTIVITIES

Written production and oral production and interaction will be assessed throughout the course by your teacher based on your performance in class activities and, especially on 3 tasks (that we call T1, T2 and T3 where T stands for ”task”).

These 3 tasks are to be completed in the classroom at different moments of the course. Tasks and activities will determine 91% of your final grade in both your WRITTEN and ORAL results.

|written: online task |written: online task |written: online task |

|oral: regular class participation |oral: regular class participation |oral: regular class participation |

|Part 1 |Part 2 |Part 3 |

|task time frame: 20 Oct – 24 Oct |task time frame: 10 Nov – 14 Nov |task time frame: 01 Dec – 05 Dec |

Please note:

• All tasks (T1, T2 and T3) must be completed to pass the course at the end of the term. Missing one task implies technically a final result of less than 65% (fail)

• Tasks handed out after the time frame provided are marked as Incomplete.

• Any technical issue in case of any online task must be reported via e-mail to your teacher within the scheduled time frame. Please allow him/her one business day for an answer.

• In case of conflict between your calendar and the scheduled time for a task, please contact both your teacher and the Spanish Head Teacher

• Final results are due on 8 December for all courses.

2. HOMEWORK

You will be provided with homework to be completed outside the classroom throughout the course. The punctuality in returning your homework to your teacher and its quality will determine

9% of the final grade in your WRITTEN.

3. ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY

A regular attendance and punctuality in attending your lessons will determine

9% of the final grade in your ORAL.

4. FEEDBACK AND FINAL RESULTS*

Students will receive some “feedback” (a grade) on their progress and performance right after tasks T1, T2 and T3 are evaluated. Grades are as follows:

|C** | |

|Minimal Pass |65-66 points |

|C-** | |

|Fail |60-64 points |

|(Close to Pass) | |

|D | |

|Fail |59 points or less |

|I |0 points *** |

|Incomplete | |

* Please note the importance of attendance so your performance can be evaluated.

**Students receiving grade C or C- on their progress/performance must make an appointment with his/her teacher to receive individual and detailed feedback to reinforce strengths and mutually develop a plan for improvement.

*** The student did not complete the task or enough activities so his/her performance cannot be evaluated

Kindly ask your teacher in case you have any doubt regarding this evaluation system.

All the best for the term!
