1. ROSTER - STARTERS - INFO
Tons of info on Xavier Football is available via numerous pages on starting with several options: FOOTBALL or ROSTERS or MEDIA CENTER. Info Packs that are helpful to the media are usually posted a few days before Xavier Football games, home or away. They will begin with the 2015 Playoffs.
2. LOGOS
Request any logo from Mike Bates via email at kmxavier@new. or download from the website as several options are available to fit your needs.
3. CREDENTIALS
Anyone working the sidelines or requesting admission to the press box at Xavier should secure credentials via Xavier Athletic Director Kathy Bates or via her husband, Mike... several days PRIOR to Game Day -- and hopefully by Monday of Game Week. Often every chair in the press box is FULL with media and coaches, and, all space on
the open-air, upper level is accounted for by coaches and media, so plan ahead and reserve space as soon as possible via an email to: kbates@xaviercatholicschools or kmxavier@new.
4. DIRECTIONS TO XAVIER
Rocky Bleier Field on the Knights of Columbus Sports Complex is located on the campus of Xavier High School,
at 1600 W. Prospect Ave., on the southwest side of Appleton 54914... about 2 miles east of Interstate Hwy 41.
There may be road construction in many areas north, south and west of Appleton around Hwy 41 (now Interstate Hwy 41) or Hwy 10 or Hwy 441, all near Xavier that may cause possible delays... thru 2017. Plan accordingly.
5. SETUP - FACILITY OPENS - FEES & PAPERWORK
The facility will available for setup anytime starting 5 hours before kickoff. If you need additional time or another option, contact Mike Bates. However, the main entrance at the Rocky Gate and archway will be locked about 5 hours before kickoff; if that is closed, media members crew can enter the game field area via the team gate "behind" school. Booth assignments and locations on the top level will be posted in the Press Box. Headsets are recommended for anyone on the top level, as they will be near the loud PA speakers. Booth assignments will be confirmed via e-mail
to media who request press box space via email, before game day, with Mike Bates. Upon arrival, provide him with
a SEALED ENVELOPE that includes any required fee and associated paperwork. Cameras on a tripod may NOT be in
the bleachers without prior approval from Kathy Bates.
6. INTERNET ACCESS & TELEPHONE LINE
Internet access is available TO ALL MEDIA in the press box, either wireless or wired (via your own cable). The signal will also reach most areas near the game field. A password is available on-site to provide media with priority access.
Any media needing a telephone line MUST make their own arrangements with the phone company, as there are outlets but NO active phone lines in the press box unless media arrange those details.
7. PARKING - Radio, Print or Remote TV
When space permits, radio and-or print media and-or Remote TV vehicles may drive through the team gate "behind school" and drive on the grass near shed A, the yellow building near the field with the large "A" by the door. Park on the grass near the shed and team gate, on a first-come basis. To reserve space in that grass area, contact Mike Bates by e-mail before Game Day. Otherwise, find a spot on your own in the lots near the field.
8. HANG ANY MEDIA BANNER
Any media banner that you want may be hung on a fence around the track and-or on the top level fence of the press box, as long as your banner does not block any window, gate, other banner-sign, or PA speaker.
9. LIVE TV
All workers: special instructions will be available via your producer. Know that the large gate on Pine Street,
in the northwest corner along the game field, will be open for your use, ONLY by Live TV workers, unless the weather prevents remote trucks from driving on the grass; it will be convenient for you to park on Pine Street to easily access the north side of the facility. Live broadcast trucks may park behind the west-side main bleachers, if weather allows, or, if weather is not good, then park in the far, west corner of the parking lot, on the asphalt, near the Rocky Gate.
