DATA AND REPORTING ANALYST

Stanmore College has a great opportunity for you to develop and maintain the College database, produce self-service and ad-hoc reports, and participate in the development of new systems in response to business needs and technical requirements. You will support Curriculum Areas, Business Support, Management and other college areas to manage, analyse and report data accurately.

The post holder will be expected to carry out day to day tasks with the minimum of supervision and be proactive in developing the role.

Salary: Band F - G, points 17 – 24, £23,673 - £28,380 per annum

REPORTING TO: DIRECTOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SERVICES

Job Summary

To develop and maintain the College’s data and reporting systems in response to business needs and technical requirements. To support Curriculum Areas, Business Support, Management and any other college areas to manage, analyse and report data accurately to meet needs. The post holder will be expected to carry out day to day tasks with the minimum of supervision and be proactive in developing the role.

Main Activities

1. Produce bespoke reports using SQL databases, views, stored procedures, functions, Microsoft Access and Excel in accordance with agreed standards and using appropriate tools to achieve a well presented, timely and accurate result.

2. Assist with the implementation, testing, development and support of applications and information systems.

3. Assessing the information needs of the college and identifying developments to reports and systems.

4. Provide support and training to other users of the college’s management information applications.

5. Provide data and statistical analysis using appropriate systems and techniques to support MIS and the College’s requirements.

6. To create self- service reports via Stored Procedures and other methods, along with ad-hoc reports using SQL queries, Excel, and any other relevant tools.

7. Assist with the implementation of new processes and projects.

8. Assist with bulk and individual data insertions and updates.

9. Produce detailed training and documentation to ensure systems are clear and robust.

10. Respond to individual staff enquiries and resolve data related issues.

11. Ensure data integrity across all developed systems.

12. Ensuring data reporting priorities and deadlines are identified and achieved with internal customers and external agencies.

13. Assist with timetabling and other MIS data related tasks

The postholder is liable to undertake any other duties of a comparable IT/MIS related nature as may reasonably be required, commensurate with the grade at the present place of work or at any other site on which the College may operate.
