As a consultant for oil and gas companies, was involved with a laboratory testing and was responsible for different aspects of northern development. Academic experience includes lectures to students of Moscow, Tyumen and Hokkaido Universities, and a number of research projects in Russia, Japan, Norway and Alaska. An author of over 100 publications and a few monographs. Coordinated planning, sampling, analysis, and reporting of detailed geocryological, geochemical and geophysical surveys. Prepared reports for the design of waste sites in the Arctic coast. Prepared geotechnical reports; monitored temperatures, soil moisture, freezing, frost heaving and frost cracking parameters; inspected frozen soil foundations; calculated the bearing capacity of bases; supervised the drilling activities. The main focus was large-scale laboratory testing of physical and mechanical properties of soil from various regions of the Arctic coast.
