?Learning Intention and Success CriteriaLearning TaskWeb linksWeeks 3 and 4 Shape and PerimeterL.I. To understand and calculate the perimeter of a shape.S.C.I can explain that perimeter is the measurement of distance around the outside of a polygonI can explain that a polygon is any flat (2D) straight-sided shapeI can identify both regular and irregular polygons.I can use the instruments for measuring length e.g. ruler, tape measure, trundle wheel.I can measure length using mm, cm and mI can show I understand size by estimating different lengths, and can use estimation to check answers are reasonable.I can use addition to calculate the total perimeter of a shape.I can apply problem solving strategies to calculate missing lengths.Task 1 – Revise 2D shapes with straight sides, otherwise known as POLYGONS!Watch the link below, read the information and try the activities. You can make notes to help you remember the different shapes in your jotter. 2 – To name polygons As you know, all shapes have names and polygons can be named depending on the number of sides they have. They can be named even more specifically depending on the type of angles they have and the length of their sides. There are three worksheets with different levels of challenge. Look at the first one and see how you go. You can do all three if you can! If you can’t print then draw the shapes out.The worksheets are called ‘Match the polygons’, ‘Name the polygons’ and ‘Investigate the properties of polygons’. Find them on the P5 page of the website.Task 3 – Explore using different polygons playing the game below you name the polygons you are using in the game? Can you tesselate any polygons (this means tile them – joined side by side leaving no gaps). Task 4 - Watch the link below, read the information and try the activities. can make notes to help you remember how to find the perimeter of a shape in your jotter.Task 5 Begin with White Rose Theme 4 – Measuring Perimeter pages 25 to 29 (the page numbers are at the bottom of each slide)Read and do the activities provided (go as far as you can with this. You might only do one or two pages. You may do all. Do what suits you best.)Task 6 – Work out the perimeter of the rooms on the worksheets belowUse what you have learned about perimeter to try one of the worksheets. There are three levels of challenge, do the one that suits you best. The worksheets are called ‘Perimeter of Rooms’. Find them on the P5 page of the website.Link 1 2 3 plan continues to use the White Rose unit of work for length, perimeter and area (do pgs 25 – 29) HYPERLINK "" ................
