Changemaker Central @ ASU - Student Leadership Team2017-2018 Position DescriptionsStorytelling Team Co-Chair – Ignite@ASU Chair:The Storytelling Team Co-Chairs will work collaboratively to develop a community of changemakers utilizing storytelling and other narrative forms (i.e. spoken word, poetry, film-making, public art, dialogue, etc.) as a mechanism to promote awareness and catalyze social change. The Co-Chairs will work with the Programming Chair Team to coordinate events and opportunities for students at all locations to become more involved in storytelling as a vehicle to promote social change. The Co-Chairs will maintain and expand partnerships to organize additional storyteller/spoken-word opportunities for students through local partners (i.e. the Storytelling Institute), related university departments, student organizations, and other institutions. The Ignite@ASU Committee chair will oversee and manage all aspects of the Fall and Spring Ignite@ASU events including outreach, speaker application review and preparation, workshops, practice sessions, and event logistics. In addition, the Ignite@ASU Chair will support the expansion of storytelling-related events, and the work of the Storytellers Series Chair/Committee. Responsibilities:Plan and execute Fall and Spring Ignite@ASU events including outreach, speaker application review and preparation, workshops, practice sessions, and event logisticsFacilitate a comprehensive speaker outreach, selection and preparation process with support from relevant internal and external partners (i.e. the Storytellers Institute)Build a committee, train members, and fill critical leadership roles essential to the success of the program (Speaker Preparation, Technical Support, Slideshow Karaoke, etc.)Coordinate the participation of the Arizona State Credit Union (and other sponsors TBD) including exhibition space, intermission presentation and recognitionWork collaboratively with the Outreach Team to develop and execute a comprehensive outreach plan to promote Ignite@ASU (speaker application and registration) and other storytelling eventsCoordinate Ignite@ASU speaker info sessions at all locations in collaboration with the Internal Relations Team to ensure pan-campus participationDevelop and conduct a comprehensive evaluation of Ignite@ASU (benefits to speakers and impact on participants) and support the evaluation of all storytelling-related activities Expectations:10 hours per weekParticipate in and actively contribute to weekly SLT meetingsMeet weekly with Staff Advisor and Team LeadersPromote Changemaker as a university-wide initiative by ensuring pan-campus representation and inclusive meeting and communication designForm a committee, establish committee roles, and host weekly committee meetingsRespond to emails within 24 hoursHold one office hour per weekAttend a minimum of one Changemaker event per monthAttend all university wide programs (i.e. Startup Summit, Ignite, Devils in Disguise, Storytelling Series, etc.)Attend Fall training, Bus tour, Spring Training, SLT Strategic Planning Session, End of Year CeremonyParticipate in Chair performance check-ins at least one time per semester with the Director and Vice DirectorSubmit Chair Report to the Director and Vice Director weeklyCreate a tool-kit and participate in transition programming with successorComplete all training and paperwork required for ASU Employment ................
