My teaching certificate indicates I have deficiencies, how do I find out what my deficiencies are?

If you hold a CTE certificate, you will also see coursework as well as exams. (These must be completed in order to transfer any provisional certificates.)

I have misplaced my certificate. Can I view it online? If you have misplaced your teaching certificate, you can view your certificate in the public portal. Please log in with your first and last name. You do not need to add the additional information.

Should I transfer my Provisional or Reciprocal Certificate to a Standard before the expiration date?

Provisional certificates are no longer being issued. Furthermore, teachers do not need years of service to transfer to a standard certificate. Therefore, it is in your best interest to transfer to a standard certificate as soon as possible.

Why should I transfer my provisional/reciprocal to a standard certificate before the expiration date?

Professional development hours are required for renewal of your standard certificate. In order to count for renewal, the hours must be completed during the current valid dates of your standard certificate. Hours completed while you are under a provisional certificate will not count toward your standard certificate.

I put my certificate in a safe place and I cannot locate it. How can I see when it is up for renewal?

You can check the public portal to view your certificate.
