Democracy Federal Credit Union Donates 70 School Supply Filled Backpacks for Kindergartners

Alexandria, VA (August 30, 2017) ? Democracy Federal Credit Union recently collected and filled 70 backpacks in partnership with the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) and their Summer Backpack & School Supply Drive. Democracy FCU had donation boxes stationed at every branch, in addition to collecting funds to put toward purchasing supplies.

Backpacks were distributed to 70 Kindergarteners ensuring children living in APAH rental communities are ready for school.

"The APAH Summer Backpack & School Supply Drive was a great opportunity to emphasize the Credit Union difference," said Kathy Geary, CEO of Democracy FCU. "We are always eager to embrace the credit union principle of people helping people."
