Chapter 4 Skill identifiers (SI)

4-1. Use of skills a. Use of a SI for positions in authorization documents and criteria governing establishment of a skill

is prescribed in AR 611-1. b. Officers may receive skill classification through one of the following procedures: (1) Officers will be classified with the proper skill upon successful completion at required skill

qualification course certified by the school commandant, or the commander of the unit to which the officer is assigned.

(2) As a result of successful completion of civil schooling, per AR 611-1. (3) As a result of work experience or contract training per classification guidance for the skill and AR 611-1. c. Officer skill identifiers may only be withdrawn by Human Resources Command (Active and USAR) or National Guard Bureau (NG). When a commander determines that an officer is no longer qualified in the SI, a request to withdraw the SI with justification will be forwarded through channels to the appropriate approval authority. d. Reference skill tables. (1) See table 4-1 for an alphabetical listing of skills. (2) Table 4-2 lists the criteria for designation of the degree of proficiency for AMEDD officer. (3) Table 4-3 is a numerical listing of skills that includes the code, title, proponent, description, qualification and restriction. Skill identifiers awarded only by CG, HRC-Alexandria are shown in the restrictions paragraph. (4) Table 4-4 lists the criteria for designation of the degree of proficiency for Judge Advocate General's Corps officers. (5) Table 4-5 lists all officer SI with gender identification, implementation date, rescinded date and personnel/structure utilization data.
