2020 SHEEPDOG TRIALS

VENDOR INFORMATION & DETAILS

GENERAL GUIDELINES

• All items displayed or sold must be in keeping with the Trailing of the Sheep Festival theme and focus. We look for hand crafted or unique products created by vendors. We do accept distributors of quality pet products, products focused on pet lovers, outdoor wear and other products that work well with dogs, sheep and outdoor lifestyles.

• All vendors wanting to sell food items must declare this in their application. Certain items will require Health Department permits which you will need to send a copy plus have permit at event.

• ALL vendors MUST submit an Application whether selling, demonstrating or exhibiting.

• Please include 2-3 photos of your art, craft or product with your application. We prefer high resolution digital images identified with your first initial, last name and numbered. You may email these to sheila@ during your application process. Your photos may be used by TOTS for promotion and advertising of the Festival. We cannot guarantee photo credit of your photo(s). We do not return photos.

• We ask for a 25-50 word bio on you and your art. We use this info for promoting our Festival.

• All applicants do require approval from the Festival prior to participation. You will be notified within 7 days of your status.

• All spaces are 10’x10’.

• There is no electricity on site.

FEES, ACCEPTANCE AND DEADLINES

• There is a $35 non-refundable Application Fee per vendor.

• Spaces: $100.00 per space for applications received on or prior to August 31st. This is for vendor space all day Friday, all day Saturday and the partial day on Sunday.

• Sheep Camps and Exhibitors - No charge if no items are sold. – Application still required.

• Former Vendors can submit one payment for Application Fee and space fee(s).

• New Vendors are asked to submit $35 Application Fee and, once accepted, pay space fee(s).

• All accepted vendors must have all fees, images, bio submitted prior to Registration.

• On or after August 1st, the fee is $125.00 per space.

• Last date to cancel to receive a refund is Aug. 1st. A $10 processing fee will be deducted.

• No refund for no-shows and vendor will not be allowed to participate for following year.

• Last day to apply is September 1st.

EVENT LOCATION

• The Sheep Dog Trials are out Quigley Canyon. To get there, turn east at Fox Acres. Follow Fox Acres towards the Community Campus and Wood River High School. Pass WRHS towards the canyon. There are directional signs along the way.

EVENT WEATHER HISTORY

• Traditionally, our weather is cold, damp and dark in the fall morning hours. Then it warms up and is bright and sunny. Some years, it can be windy and snowy. For your best sales potential, please consider the extremes and come prepared.

• Please collapse your pop-ups overnight and weigh down both at night and during the day for unexpected winds. There is no designated security overnight, plus, in signing you will release Trailing of the Sheep of any liability. But there are handlers ‘camping out’ all weekend on site.

OVERNIGHTERS

• MOTELS: In Hailey: Airport Inn (1-800-634-3444), AmericInn (208-788-7950), Wood River Inn (1-877-542-0600), Ellsworth B&B (208-788-6354), and in Bellevue: High Country Motel (208-721-0067) and Silver Creek (208-725-8282).

• CAMPING: The closest Campground is in at the Meadows RV Park between Hailey and Ketchum (11 miles north.) (208- 726-5445.)

• VEHICLE CAMPING: There is overnight, self-contained vehicle camping onsite at the Trials. We would appreciate requests for space prior to the event. Please note, your dogs must be kept on leash at all times. Porta-potties are reserved for our guests. The nearest septic dump is located on the south side of the RM Park (next to the Folklife Fair). Because of the Fair, please plan to use ‘dump’ on Friday or Sunday onward.

UPON ARRIVAL

• There will be signs to guide you into the Event area. Look for the “Information” banner on our tent. You will be directed at check in to vendor spaces.

FESTIVAL REGISTRATION

• Registration/Check-In is offered on Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

• All Vendors must complete and sign an Idaho Tax Form before getting assigned a space.

You can provide your permanent Idaho Tax# on your application. For those who need them, Temporary One Time Event Permit Form will be ready for you at check-in.

• AFTER Tax Forms are completed, you will be shown your space by one of our staff. They will help with any further questions you may have.

SET UP/UNLOADING/TEARDOWN

• We ask that you be set up by 9 a.m. and wait to tear down until 5 p.m. (Sunday at 2:00)

• Please be respectful of others while unloading. If necessary, please move vehicles as directed.

EVENT HOURS

• Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Sheepdog Trials are open to the public at dawn (7:30 a.m).

• Sheepdog Trials end at dusk (7 a.m.) on Friday and Saturday and about 2 p.m. on Sunday.

TAX PERMIT & SALES

• Vendors must have their Tax Permit visible to the public during the event. (Your copy of our form works.)

• Idaho Sales Tax is 6%. You are responsible for collecting and paying sales taxes on items you have sold. Information and address information is on your tax form.
