Earth Day Recycled Art ProjectI am asking all elementary students (grades 1-4) to create a recycled art project in honor of Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22nd. Earth Day is an annual event that is celebrated around the world to bring awareness and action to protecting our planet and keeping it clean and safe for all living things. You can use whatever recyclable materials you have available at home to create something awesome. Below you will find how to start this project, examples, and a link to my lesson. Can’t wait to see all of your creations. I will be setting up optional video chats throughout the week to check in - we can share our brainstorms, rough drafts, and even any finished projects. Have fun and use your imagination!Due Date for the Recycled Art Project: Friday, May 1st (you have two weeks to work on this)Video of Mrs. Planer: for the Recycled Art Project:Brainstorm #1 - create a list of ideas for things that you would like to possibly make out of recycled materials (a car, an animal, a house, an insect, etc.)Brainstorm #2 - create a list of recycled materials that you could use for the project at home (cereal boxes, egg cartons, gallon containers, toilet paper rolls, etc.)Create a rough sketch of your recycled art project and label it (what are you going to use, what colors will it be, what shapes is it made out of, etc.) *Friendly reminder - your actual project does not need to look exactly like the rough sketch (feel free to add, change, or remove things)Start assembling and creating the actual recycled art projectTake a photo of the finished recycled art project and turn it in through google classroom or email it to Mrs. PlanerExamples: Lorelei’s Pirate Ship 2020 (my daughter) Jude’s Rocketship 2020 (my son) Lorelei’s Unicorn 2019 ................
